Weekly Bulletin – #GoodNewsGoodTimes

Mary Ann Sanford has been making cloth masks for Barton Hospital in South Lake Tahoe. They are used to go over the N95 masks (the masks can be washed often so that the N95 mask can be reused).  She made several dozen for hospital staff members and a few for her son-in-law, who is an ER doctor in Sacramento. God bless you, Mary Ann!

Resurrection’s Feeding the 5,000 Food Pantry was recently highlighted in the Alameda County Community Food Bank’s “Network Newsflash” serving the community during the pandemic. The Food Pantry will be open April 11 & 25.

Calling all 2020 graduates: If you or your child is graduating from High School or college, please email  anna.t@cvresurrection.org with their name, where they are graduating from and major, a senior photo (or a recent photo), and what their educational goals or career plans are. We will be featuring all of our graduates in our next monthly bulletin!

This week, George Psefteas sent in a quick update on the building plans for the Dublin Canyon, Pleasanton property: “The drawings continue to be worked on by our architects, ATI and are substantially complete. Before finalizing, ATI wanted to share the drawings with the City Planner – despite the shutting down of all services under the shelter-in-place orders.  We expect to have a video conference call with ATI within the next 7-10 days to finalize the submission package. The City is not yet formally accepting new applications but there is hope we can either submit or be ready to submit when the City resumes normal operations.”

Weekly Wisdom from Father Niko
Beloved brothers and sisters in the Lord,
Please reflect on these words as we begin to enter the time of the Lord’s Passion and Resurrection: “Familiarity between people comes about through physical presence. Familiarity with God, by contrast, is built on meditation and self-abandonment to Him during prayer.”
                                                                        – Saint John of Kronstadt

With Love in Christ,
Father Niko Bekris
