Beloved brothers and sisters in the Lord,
We are cautiously optimistic that we will be able to resume in-person Divine Services at Resurrection in the near future; however the health and safety of parishioners and all people in our community continues to be our primary concern.
The Alameda County Shelter-in-Place (SIP) order remains in place, and we do not yet have information about the timing of when in-person gatherings in churches will be permitted in the county. The Health Officer Order issued on May 18th does not have an end date, and is in effect until it is amended, replaced, or rescinded. We currently have the highest rate of case increases in the Bay Area alongside a large increase in hospitalized cases. It is imperative that we proceed with caution. In-person gatherings continue to be prohibited at this time.
Our Parish Council COVID-19 contingency plan task force is working to ensure that we will be ready to reopen the church for “in-person” worship when the Alameda County Public Health Officer deems it safe to do so. We are committed to following all local regulations, and will continue to keep you updated as conditions change.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate through the changes. As restrictions are lessened, our church activities will expand appropriately. The transition back to a fully opened parish will take time, and there may be challenges along the way, but we will persevere with faith, knowing that “with God, all things are possible.” – Matthew 19:26.
