Our Annual Resurrection Greek Festival would have taken place Friday,
August 21 through Sunday, August 23. Up until now, we would have
spent endless hours baking, cooking, planning and preparing for our
festival. Do we miss the countless hours of baking and cooking?
Probably not!
But, here is what we will miss….making pastries side by side with our
friends, meeting with the different festival booth leaders and sharing
new ideas; cooking in the kitchen, listening to music and swapping our
family stories, and proudly watching our children perform the traditional
dances from the “old country;” greeting visitors, sharing our faith, and
answering their questions; rushing past each other with understanding smiles, and getting hugs from friends and family!
We tried to come up with alternatives for this year’s festival, but due to COVID-19 and the Alameda County restrictions in place, and our desire and commitment to ensuring everyone’s safety, we unfortunately decided that we could not successfully host a festival at this time. If something changes, we’ll keep you posted here and on our social media sites – stay tuned.
In the meantime, how about we take the festival weekend off this year and relax?! But just this year. Contact Festival Co-chairs Nicolette Efstathiou and Christine Psefteas if you have any questions.
Is the festival going to happen in 2021 ? We sure hope so !
