A Message From Youth Director, Anna Teodosiadis

“Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, and sold their possessions and goods and    divided them among all, as anyone had need. So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.”  (Acts 2:40-46)

“Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common..” This line brings me so much comfort. Together! Finally! My heart goes out to all of us who have been waiting so patiently for this moment. What seems like a once in a lifetime event, we are finally getting to experience the joys of being back at church in the presence of one another. In some ways, it feels like we got to see each other more last year with more frequent virtual gatherings and connecting on a different level. We all went through a huge life event together and were able to understand one another because of it. In other ways, I miss you all more than ever because as we all know… virtual is just, different!

I will forever be grateful for the time we got to spend and memories we got to make online! I will also be forever grateful for your dedication and commitment to our church ministries. It was still important to you, and they happened because you were there! For those of you weren’t able to make online ministries, I understand this choice and invite you this summer to pick up where you left off!

This summer, we get to experience church, one another, AND youth ministries in-person!

Here are some ways to connect with one another and the Church this summer:

Youth Ministries: Youth ministries will be back! Our Youth ministry advisors (aka Youth Committee) are actively gathering to form a summer plan for you. This means discussions, sports, services, games are back at Resurrection. Please be on the lookout for these events in your texts and emails.

Church Services: Resurrection church services are continuing every Sunday. Orthros at 8:45 a.m. Divine Liturgy at 10:00 a.m. with outdoor coffee hour following. Please join us throughout the summer!

Vacation Church School: Last year, we offered Vacation Church School online. This year, we hope to offer this in person! This will include daily activities, lessons, games, etc. High Schoolers: help for this will be needed on an organizational level, and I know the younger kids of Resurrection miss seeing you. Please let me know if you are interested in helping out.

Bay Area Day Camps: The Metropolis Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministries is also working with us to plan in-person day camps and activities, as allowed by the local guidelines. Resurrection will be included in all events with other bay area parishes. This includes day trips with your age group, hikes, orthodox discussion, and more!

Virtual Metropolis of San Francisco Summer Camp July 19-30 for all 8-18 year old’s. Activities include daily cabin talks, prayer services, arts and crafts, cooking classes, evening activities and more! Participants will receive a camper box in the mail with supplies, camp gear and a few surprises. Register at: http://www.gosfyouth.org

Confession with Fr. Niko: Fr. Niko is available for Confession! If you’d like to schedule a time with him, feel free to text or email him at anytime.

I invite you to participate in as many of these options as you can. We will follow current state and county guidelines at the time of all these gatherings. I am always available to talk, hear suggestions for youth ministries and hear what is going on with you.
