Our semi-annual “Spring” General Assembly was held on Sunday, June 27 immediately following the Divine Liturgy in the Agape Community Center.
In addition to hearing from Father Niko Bekris and parish council president Ray Akkawi, several of our ministry leaders brought us up to date on our Strategic Plan and Parish Financials. Also in attendance were two special guests – architect Michael Goldsworthy, of AC Martin, and Building Project consultant, Guy Houston, who shared visual renderings of the proposed Dublin Canyon property, church, and community center.
Stewardship Report – No Passing of Trays
Stewardship Ministry lead Gary Wallner announced that as part of “Cultivating a Culture of Generosity” and a way for stewardship giving to reach its full potential, the parish council has made the decision not to pass a tray for donations at the end of Divine Services (a commitment was made at the beginning of the year to stop inundating parishioners with constant donation requests). As part of this change, you are asked to consider transitioning your tray gifts toward your annual stewardship commitment (for example: if you make a tray donation of $5.00 each Sunday, consider increasing your monthly stewardship commitment to include that amount).
A tray will continue to be available in the Narthex for beeswax candles and 7-day memorial candle donations.
